WestJet is set to enhance its winter travel offerings significantly for the 2025-2026 season. According to company spokesperson Weatherill, an impressive 71% of WestJet’s non-stop services are now more affordable than they were in 2024. This strategic pricing shift aims to attract more travelers, making it easier for Canadians to explore warm-weather destinations during the colder months.
In addition to competitive pricing, the airline is introducing new routes to several enticing locations including Panama City, Guadalajara, Tepic (Nayarit), Havana, and Managua (Nicaragua). This marks the inaugural winter season for Mexico City as a year-round service, further expanding WestJet’s reach in Mexico and Latin America.
In tandem with the launch of new destinations, WestJet plans to increase seat capacity across Latin America and the Caribbean by 6%, with Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico being primary targets for route expansion.
