A new travel initiative is set to provide Canadians with unprecedented access to affordable sun vacations. The recently established Sunwing Vacations Group, announced by WestJet, combines several prominent vacation and retail travel brands under one umbrella, enhancing value for consumers across the country.
The creation of the Sunwing Vacations Group follows WestJet’s acquisition of Sunwing, finalized in May 2023. This new division includes leading Canadian leisure tour operators such as Sunwing Vacations and WestJet Vacations, along with the expanding U.S. operator Vacation Express. It also encompasses retail ventures like SellOffVacations.com and Luxe Destination Weddings. Collectively, these brands establish the largest vacation portfolio in North America.
Despite the integration, each brand within the Sunwing Vacations Group will maintain its unique identity and serve as a standalone offering in the marketplace.
The official unveiling of the Sunwing Vacations Group took place during a recent event attended by leaders from all affiliated brands, marking the first time they gathered to celebrate the relaunch and discuss future objectives.

Alexis von Hoensbroech, Chief Executive Officer of the WestJet Group, highlighted the synergy between WestJet Airlines and the newly-formed Sunwing Vacations Group. “By serving as the largest provider of packaged vacations in Canada, we aim to support the WestJet Group’s strategy of delivering budget-friendly, year-round leisure travel options to Canadians nationwide.”
