The Mob Museum in downtown Las Vegas has unveiled its latest attraction, the Starlight Plaza, a seasonal outdoor lounge and event venue. Spanning 7,700 square feet, the Starlight Plaza combines midcentury design with modern elements, featuring a vibrant palette of greens, pinks, and golds that reflect the aesthetic of classic Strip resorts and the essence of desert modernism.
The plaza is adorned with mixed-media murals by renowned Las Vegas artist Derek Douglas, also known as Snipt, celebrating the legacies of iconic figures such as Tom Jones, Liberace, Lena Horne, and members of the Rat Pack. Additionally, the venue pays homage to other significant themes in Vegas history, including gambling, boxing, the Mint 400 off-road race, and Fremont Street’s Glitter Gulch, a site formerly home to the legendary Vegas Vickie neon sign.
To enhance the immersive experience, a neon sign created by the famous company Yesco adds a touch of authenticity to the environment. "Every detail of the Starlight Plaza has been crafted to encapsulate the vibrant energy of vintage Las Vegas," commented Ashley Miller, the museum’s vice president of marketing, communication, and sales. "From the cocktails to the music and art, guests will feel as if they’ve been transported to an era when this city first captured the world’s imagination."
Beverage Offerings at Starlight Plaza
The Starlight Plaza features an enticing beverage program that includes both signature cocktails and mocktails. For a limited time, the Golden Age Menu offers classic cocktails, beer, and wines for just $5 from 5 to 7 p.m. Clint Thoman, the museum’s senior director of food and beverage, emphasized that the menu is designed to reflect the flavors and spirit of this iconic era while staying true to Las Vegas’s reputation as the hospitality capital of the world.

With a capacity to seat 56 guests, the plaza can accommodate up to 499 individuals for special events. It opens from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
