United Airlines Announces New Routes to Europe from Newark
Next year, United Airlines is set to expand its international offerings with seasonal flights to four exciting European destinations directly from Newark Liberty International Airport. Travelers can look forward to convenient services to Split, Croatia; Glasgow, Scotland; Bari, Italy; and Santiago de Compostela, Spain. This expansion is aimed at enhancing travel options and connectivity for passengers.
Flight Schedules and Aircraft
United’s new flights to Split will launch on April 30, operating three times a week. This route will mark United’s second destination in Croatia, complementing its existing service to Dubrovnik. Travelers heading to Bari will have four flights a week starting May 1, both routes using state-of-the-art Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
Additionally, United Airlines will introduce daily flights from Newark to Glasgow beginning May 8, providing essential connections for both leisure and business travelers. Furthermore, seasonal service to Santiago de Compostela will commence on May 27, operating three times a week. Flights on these routes will utilize Boeing 737 Max 8 narrowbody planes, ensuring a modern and comfortable travel experience.
Exclusive Connections
In a significant development, United will be the only airline offering nonstop service between the U.S. and both Split and Santiago de Compostela. This exclusive positioning enhances United’s competitive edge in the market. Although Italian carrier Neo will provide weekly summer service to Bari from New York’s Kennedy Airport, United remains the primary choice for direct flights from Newark.
Continued International Operations
United Airlines is not only expanding its European destinations but is also committed to maintaining its extensive range of international routes. The airline confirmed it will continue to operate all nine of the international destinations introduced this year, which include Dakar, Senegal; Nuuk, Greenland; Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Faro, Portugal; the Portuguese island of Madeira; Bilbao, Spain; Palermo, Sicily; and Puerto Escondido, Mexico.
New Routes to Asia and Iceland
In addition to the European routes, United Airlines recently unveiled two new international routes for the coming year. Daily service from Newark to Seoul will commence on September 4, enabling passengers to enjoy daily access to South Korea. This route will compete with Air Premia and utilize the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Meanwhile, United will also begin daily flights from Washington Dulles to Reykjavik, Iceland, starting May 21. This new service will complement United’s existing flights from Chicago O’Hare and Newark, providing passengers with more options for traveling to the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland. On this route, United will face competition from Icelandair, operating on Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
With these exciting new routes, United Airlines aims to enhance travel experiences and provide customers with a variety of international travel options from the U.S.
