Marriott International Expands with the Launch of Red Sea Edition Resort on Shura Island
Marriott International has officially launched its Edition brand at the stunning Red Sea Edition, a luxurious resort located on Saudi Arabia’s picturesque Shura Island. This island, accessible via a two-mile bridge from the country’s western coastline, serves as a key component of the ambitious Red Sea Project megadevelopment spearheaded by Red Sea Global.
Luxurious Accommodations and Superb Amenities
The Red Sea Edition features 240 well-appointed guest rooms, each designed to offer guests an unparalleled experience. Set against half a mile of private beachfront, the resort provides panoramic views of the island’s Shura Links 18-hole golf course, making it a prime destination for golf enthusiasts.
Guests can indulge in a variety of culinary experiences at the resort’s multiple dining venues, and relaxation can be found at expansive spa and fitness facilities. For those looking to host events, the resort boasts 10,700 square feet of dedicated space, including a stunning ballroom capable of accommodating up to 500 guests.
Future Developments on Shura Island
The Red Sea Edition is just the beginning for Shura Island, which will soon be complemented by the opening of the SLS and InterContinental resorts. Following these introductions, the island will welcome eight additional resorts under prestigious brands such as Faena, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Jumeirah, Miraval, Raffles, and Rosewood. This expansion highlights the growing prestige of the area as a premier luxury travel destination.
The Vision of the Red Sea Project
According to Red Sea Global, the Red Sea Project aims to establish a total of 50 hotels and more than 1,000 residential units across 22 islands and six inland sites by 2030. This ambitious vision is set to transform the region into a world-class tourism hotspot, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Following the Success of Jeddah Edition
The Red Sea Edition marks the second Edition hotel to launch in Saudi Arabia, following the successful debut of the Jeddah Edition last year. With its unique offerings and striking location, the Red Sea Edition is poised to attract both international travelers and locals alike, solidifying Marriott’s commitment to expanding its luxury portfolio in the region.
As the Red Sea Project continues to unfold, the future looks bright for luxury accommodations in Saudi Arabia, with innovations and developments that promise to redefine the travel experience.
