Explora Journeys is set to embark on a new voyage in Asia, launching its inaugural sailings in September 2027. The cruise line will operate from major homeports including Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Shanghai.
The star of these journeys will be the Explora III, debuting in August, which will be stationed in Asia from autumn 2027 through spring 2028. This new ship will showcase the beauties and intricacies of the continent through a carefully curated selection of itineraries.
Destinations will encompass a total of nine countries: Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore. With a diverse range of 18 itineraries lasting between seven to 14 nights, travelers will have numerous options to explore the region.
Chris Austin, North America president of Explora Journeys, emphasized the appeal of the Asian market, stating, “Asia is, quite frankly, irresistible for a brand such as ours. It offers a kaleidoscope of cultures, traditions, and landscapes that align beautifully with our philosophy of slower, more meaningful exploration.” Notable itinerary highlights will include Japan’s stunning fall foliage and the cherry blossoms, along with the vibrant Golden Week celebrations in China.
The introduction of a variety of seven-day itineraries is a strategic move by the brand, designed to attract the “working affluent” demographic. This initiative aims to provide a comfortable yet enriching travel experience conducive to professional schedules.
Explora V to Debut in Europe and Cruise the Arabian Peninsula
While the Explora III voyages through Asia, the cruise line will also launch the Explora V in Europe, which will later sail the Arabian Peninsula. Deploying multiple ships in various regions is essential to the company’s overarching strategy, Austin noted.
As the fleet continues to grow, Austin anticipates expanding their offerings: “You can expect us to continue this approach, providing new regions, more journey length options, and deeper connections with destinations,” he stated. This multifaceted approach not only enhances travel choices for consumers but also promotes a more immersive cruising experience across different cultures and landscapes.
