WildPlaces Africa is set to enhance its luxury offerings with the upcoming launch of Kulu Ora, a new lodge scheduled to open in early 2026. This addition will mark the seventh property in WildPlaces Africa’s portfolio, and the second within the spectacular Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area.
Discover Kulu Ora: A New Gem in Murchison Falls National Park
Located in a newly designated 290-square-mile low-impact zone, Kulu Ora will provide exclusive access to a secluded section of Murchison Falls National Park. The lodge shares this pristine environment with its sister property, Papa’s Camp, ensuring a private and intimate experience for guests. Visitors can expect unparalleled wildlife viewing, with opportunities to witness Uganda’s Big Seven, which includes mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and Cape buffaloes. Bird enthusiasts will also delight in some of the best birding locations, while fishing enthusiasts can enjoy exceptional Nile River fishing.
Luxurious Accommodations and Amenities
Kulu Ora will feature 11 canvas-walled suites, each complete with private plunge pools and stunning river views. In addition to these accommodations, a spacious two-bedroom group suite will cater to families or traveling companions. The lodge’s main facilities include a swimming pool designed for laps, a large pool deck and bar, and a library stocked with curated African literature. For those seeking relaxation, a spa overlooking the Nile will provide treatments using locally sourced oils and butters, while wellness offerings such as yoga, meditation, and forest bathing will immerse guests in the tranquil surroundings.
Sustainability at the Core
Sustainability is a central theme in the design and operation of Kulu Ora. The lodge will be fully solar-powered, utilizing electric carts for guest transportation and constructed with minimal environmental impact in mind. Notably, all buildings are designed for easy removal, allowing for the land to be restored in the future. On-site, a walled garden will supply fresh produce, reinforcing the lodge’s commitment to sustainability and local sourcing. A conservation levy of $25 per bed night is included in bookings, directly supporting park protection initiatives and local community projects.
Easy Access to a Luxurious Retreat
Traveling to Kulu Ora is convenient, with daily scheduled flights from Entebbe or Kajjansi to Murchison Falls available. Private charter flights and a five-hour drive from Kampala also provide accessible options for guests wishing to explore this stunning destination.
Kulu Ora promises to be an outstanding addition to the luxury safari experience in Uganda, combining exquisite accommodations, rich wildlife encounters, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
