MONTREAL — Air Transat is set to enhance its international offerings with the introduction of a new year-round, non-stop route connecting Toronto and Istanbul. This new service is expected to commence on December 6, 2025, operating twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The airline has also established a new interline partnership with Turkish Airlines to bolster connectivity between Canada and Türkiye. This collaboration is designed to provide travelers with more seamless options for onward journeys across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. The newly launched direct flights will significantly enhance passenger services through this cooperation.
This new route is perfectly timed, reflecting a growing interest among Canadian travelers in visiting Türkiye, especially following the lifting of visa requirements for Canadian passport holders in 2024. Istanbul remains an attractive destination, renowned for its rich history, vibrant culture, and diverse tourism offerings.
The launch of Toronto-Istanbul flights marks a strategic growth initiative for Air Transat, complementing its existing partnership with Porter Airlines. This synergy will facilitate convenient connections from various regions, including Ottawa, Montreal, the Maritimes, and other parts of Western Canada.
As excitement builds for this service, ticket sales are anticipated to open in the coming days. This new venture not only broadens Air Transat’s operational footprint but also enriches travel options between these two vibrant cities.
