Delta Air Lines Expands International Reach from Seattle with New European Routes
In an exciting development for travelers, Delta Air Lines is set to launch nonstop flights to two new European destinations from Seattle in May 2026. The airline will operate routes to Barcelona and Rome, enhancing connectivity for passengers in the Pacific Northwest.
Nonstop Flights to Barcelona and Rome
Delta’s new services will utilize state-of-the-art Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, featuring Delta One and Premium Select cabins for a premium travel experience. The Seattle to Rome route will operate four times a week, while flights to Barcelona will run three times a week. This service expansion aims to meet the growing demand for international travel among Seattle residents.
Enhanced Airport Experience at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
Travelers departing from Seattle will also benefit from two newly opened lounges at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The lounges, which include a dedicated Delta One lounge and a Delta Sky Club, are strategically located across from Gate A11.
Delta One Lounge
Spanning 10,000 square feet, the Delta One lounge accommodates 149 guests indoors and an additional 72 guests on a wraparound terrace offering stunning views of Mount Rainier. This luxurious space fosters a serene environment for travelers as they prepare for their journeys.
Delta Sky Club
The adjacent Delta Sky Club is even more expansive, covering 14,000 square feet with seating for up to 183 customers. This lounge will also feature two shower suites, providing passengers with much-needed comfort during their travels.
Concierge Services and Streamlined Check-In
In addition to the lounge facilities, Delta One customers flying from Seattle will enjoy concierge-style check-in, a service that mirrors the experiences available at major airports like Boston Logan, Los Angeles (LAX), and New York JFK.
Additionally, travelers in any cabin who check in through the Fly Delta app and enroll in the TSA’s PreCheck Touchless ID facial-recognition program (previously Delta Digital ID) will have access to expedited baggage drop and security processes in Seattle. This innovative program is expected to roll out across all Delta hubs by year-end.
Optimizing Travel Operations
Delta has secured priority access to 18 gates across Concourses A and B at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, further enhancing operational efficiency. This strategic move is intended to streamline operations and create a more seamless, elevated experience for all travelers.
With the introduction of these new routes and enhanced airport services, Delta Air Lines continues to solidify its commitment to providing exceptional travel experiences for its customers in Seattle and beyond. Enjoy your European getaway with Delta!
