TORONTO — Joe Adamo, the long-standing Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Transat and President of Transat Distribution Canada (TDC), announced his retirement effective December 31, 2025, after over 14 years with the company. His exit marks a significant transition for Transat, prompting a strategic reorganization of the leadership team aimed at sustaining the company’s robust commercial growth.
Leadership Changes at Transat
The company has outlined its plans to expand the responsibilities of two pivotal executives: Renée Boisvert and Xavier Szwengler. Boisvert, who currently serves as Vice President of Product and Tour Operator Sales, will enlarge her portfolio to include oversight of both the Canadian Affair and TDC brands, assuming the presidency of TDC. Her new title will be Vice President, Product and Tour Operator Sales, and President of TDC.
Renée Boisvert’s Vision
Boisvert expressed her enthusiasm about the new role, stating, “I am honoured by the trust placed in me by the leadership team and am very excited to take on this new challenge. I look forward to working even more closely with the talented teams at TDC and Canadian Affair, as well as with our valued network of partners, to continue innovating and growing our market share.” This emphasis on collaboration and innovation reflects Transat’s commitment to enhancing its offerings in the travel sector.
The Expanded Role of Xavier Szwengler
Alongside Boisvert’s elevation, Szwengler will broaden his existing responsibilities in Marketing and Loyalty to include leadership of the Digital Experience teams, Contact Centres, and Air Transat’s commercial team. His new title will be Vice President, Marketing and Distribution.
Szwengler’s Goals
Szwengler shared his excitement about the expanded responsibilities, stating, “I am thrilled to take on these new responsibilities, which will allow us to create an even more integrated and high-performing customer experience – from initial marketing inspiration through to post-sale service.” This holistic approach is designed to enhance customer satisfaction and engagement across all stages of their travel journey.
Looking Ahead
The leadership transitions will officially take place following Adamo’s retirement. As Transat navigates this change, the company remains focused on maintaining its strong commercial momentum and delivering exceptional travel experiences for its customers.
