Air Canada is set to enhance its regional connectivity with the introduction of new flight routes and increased capacity, aimed at meeting rising travel demand. Starting December 15, 2025, the airline will initiate daily flights between Ottawa and Fredericton and Moncton in New Brunswick. Additionally, from December 2, 2025, Air Canada will provide three-times-weekly service from Vancouver to Fort McMurray.

Increased Capacity for Sudbury Route
In addition to the new routes, Air Canada will expand its service between Sudbury and Toronto by increasing seat capacity by 50%. Effective February 1, 2026, flights will increase from two to three daily. This move is part of Air Canada’s commitment to enhancing its regional services and meeting passenger demand.
Service Suspension and Strategic Shift
Despite these expansions, Air Canada will suspend services to Bathurst and North Bay starting January 30, 2026, due to concerns about commercial viability. Comprehensive Flight Operations
