The Air Canada Foundation and its signature program, Dreams Take Flight, have once again delivered enchanting experiences for children across Canada. This year, over 1,000 children faced various challenges were treated to unforgettable journeys at theme parks in Florida and California, filled with excitement, joy, and magical memories.
About Dreams Take Flight
Founded in 1989, Dreams Take Flight was initiated by a dedicated group of Air Canada employees in Toronto, aiming to create remarkable experiences for children facing mental, physical, or social challenges. By 1997, the initiative had expanded nationally, establishing eight chapters across Canada: Halifax, Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. The program thrives entirely on volunteers, with the Air Canada Foundation providing each chapter with aircraft and essential support to ensure successful trips.
Volunteer Support and Experience
Children selected from various organizations embark on these remarkable trips accompanied by generous volunteers, comprising both current and retired Air Canada employees. These volunteers, including flight attendants and maintenance engineers, dedicate their time to deliver a memorable experience, allowing the children to escape their everyday struggles and indulge in joy and wonder.
Testimonials from Leaders
