The highly anticipated Star Explorer, a luxury yacht from Windstar Cruises, is set to launch in December 2026. This stunning 431-foot vessel will embark on scenic itineraries throughout Northern Europe and the Mediterranean, promising unique experiences for travelers.
Currently known as the World Explorer within the Quark Expeditions fleet, the Star Explorer boasts a capacity for 224 guests with 112 elegantly designed suites. Serving both river and ocean cruises, this yacht will also offer itineraries that include overnight port stays for a more immersive travel experience.
Maiden Voyage and Itinerary Highlights
The inaugural journey of the Star Explorer will take place on December 28, 2026. This nine-day roundtrip cruise from Barcelona will include splendid port calls at Mallorca, Valencia, Cartagena, Malaga, and Gibraltar. Attendees can look forward to the ship’s christening ceremony scheduled for May 31, 2027, in London.
Exploring Northern Europe
For those intrigued by Northern Europe, the Star Explorer will feature exciting itineraries such as the “Circumnavigating Ireland” cruise. This 10-day adventure offers guests the opportunity to experience nearly the entire coastline of Ireland. Additionally, an eight-day “Sven Gems of the Baltic” cruise will take passengers through seven vibrant countries including Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia.
Exploring the Mediterranean
Cruisers can also enjoy an eight-day sailing route from Lisbon to Bordeaux. This trip will focus on northern Spain and Portugal, visiting lesser-known ports including Vigo, Gijón, and Bilbao, alongside Porto, Portugal.
