Taiwanese carrier Eva Air has officially become a part of Southwest Airlines’ expanding international partnership roster. This development promises new travel opportunities for passengers seeking connections between the U.S. and Taiwan.
Interline Itineraries Now Available
Travelers can now book interline itineraries that connect through several of Southwest Airlines’ U.S. gateways, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago O’Hare. These routes are now bookable through global distribution systems (GDS), the official Eva Air website, and various third-party travel sites.
However, Southwest has yet to announce when bookings will be available through its own sales channels, leaving customers to navigate alternative booking options for now.
Destination Focus: Taipei
All of Eva Air’s flights originating from the U.S. ultimately lead to Taipei. Passengers flying with Eva can expect a seamless experience as they continue their journey to this vibrant city.
Joining Forces with Other Carriers
Eva Air marks the second Taipei-based interline partnership for Southwest, following the recent collaboration with China Airlines. These interline itineraries are set to start operating on January 26, utilizing gateways in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Ontario, California.
Southwest’s Growing Network
Earlier this year, Icelandair became Southwest’s first interline partner, further enhancing Southwest’s international connectivity. This expansion signifies a noteworthy shift for the low-cost airline, creating more options for travelers eager to explore destinations beyond North America.
Update: This article has been revised to clarify that bookings through GDS are now available.
