AmaWaterways has appointed two new senior executives as the company embarks on an exciting growth phase.
The appointments come in the wake of Rudi Schreiner’s departure as CEO on July 1, paving the way for Catherine Powell to take the lead.

AmaWaterways has appointed Angel Christopher Gomez as the new senior vice president of global consumer sales and service, while Sezin Aksoy takes on the role of senior vice president of revenue management, insights, and analytics. The creation of these positions marks a significant step forward for the company.
Catherine Powell expressed her enthusiasm for the new hires, stating that Gomez and Aksoy are “passionate, purpose-driven leaders whose talents will help us elevate the guest experience and make more data-informed decisions that support our long-term vision.”
Gomez brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in travel and hospitality to the table, having served as associate vice president at Celebrity Cruises. He will oversee global consumer sales as well as service and reservations operations, focusing on enhancing both guest and travel advisor experiences. “I am honored to join a company with purpose, heart, and a deep commitment to its guests and travel partners,” he remarked.

Aksoy brings over 20 years of experience in travel, sports, and entertainment industries, specializing in strategy, revenue optimization, and analytics. Before joining AmaWaterways, she worked at ticketing platform AXS as the senior vice president of global data strategy and analytics. Her career began at American Airlines, focusing on revenue management and corporate sales. Her expertise is critical in strengthening predictive analytics and revenue strategies for the cruise line.
