The Grand Prix Plaza in Las Vegas has launched an exhilarating array of attractions and exhibits that immerse visitors in the thrilling world of Formula 1 racing.
This impressive four-story structure, spanning 300,000 square feet, has served as the garage, pits, and observation area for the Las Vegas Grand Prix for the past two years. Recent enhancements have transformed it into the most extensive and engaging Formula 1 attraction in North America, offering a range of entertainment and amenities. Experience the Thrill of F1 Drive
Visitors to Grand Prix Plaza can dive right into one of the key attractions, F1 Drive. Upon arrival, guests receive head socks, choose their helmets, and undergo a safety briefing before hitting the 1,696-foot kart track. Up to 20 drivers can race simultaneously on this vibrant track, which includes 31 turns and briefly takes racers outdoors onto the actual Grand Prix pit lane.
The experience replicates the feeling of real F1 racing. Drivers indulge in the roaring engines and iconic radio signals, reminiscent of professional circuits. Each kart can reach speeds up to 30 mph, offering a taste of the skills and determination required for F1 racing, where professional drivers clock in at incredible speeds of 220 mph. The LED-lit steering wheel mimics real F1 technology, featuring components like a drag reduction system for overtaking and an Energy Recovery System for added speed boosts.
Interactive F1 X Experience
Another highlight of Grand Prix Plaza is the F1 X exhibit, designed to captivate both rookie fans and die-hard enthusiasts. This sprawling area combines museum-quality displays, interactive screens, and immersive experiences, allowing guests to explore 75 years of Formula 1 history. From classic cars to famous drivers, F1 X offers a unique look into the technologies and innovations that have shaped the sport.
Guests can also engage in practical challenges, such as changing a tire in F1 timing—where professional teams complete the task in 2.5 seconds. Participants test their skills working together with a battery-powered wheel gun, giving them a glimpse into the teamwork that defines F1 pit stops.
The experience extends further with the option to design a custom car using touch screens. Visitors can select colors, designs, and sponsors, seeing their creations visually brought to life. Additionally, a state-of-the-art 4-D theater with haptic seating delivers thrilling simulations of a lap around the Las Vegas circuit from a driver’s perspective. For those eager to dive into virtual racing, advanced simulators allow participants to experience the action on the Las Vegas circuit, free for guests throughout July.
Dining and Additional Amenities
Grand Prix Plaza also features the Fuel & Fork restaurant and a sleek merchandise store, enhancing the overall visitor experience. It’s essential to note that all displays will be removed in mid-September in preparation for the F1 race scheduled from November 20 to 22, with attractions reopening in mid-December. For those interested in F1 watch parties complete with themed food and beverages, group rentals are also available.
Grand Prix Plaza operates Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight, with advanced ticketing recommended to avoid disappointment. For tickets and further information, guests can visit www.grandprixplaza.com.
