Beaches Resorts has unveiled an extensive $1 billion expansion plan aimed at doubling its presence over the next five years. This ambitious initiative will mark the brand’s inaugural ventures into Barbados and The Bahamas, with exciting new offerings designed specifically for families.
In a recent event in New York City, Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Beaches Resorts, shared the transformative plans during the global launch of Made of Caribbean. The expansion will include multiple new locations for the Beaches brand, such as a new resort in Barbados, a property in Exuma, The Bahamas, and Beaches Runaway Bay in Jamaica, as well as enhancements to the existing Beaches Turks and Caicos property.
New Additions in Barbados
Set to open in late 2025, the new Beaches Barbados will be the first of its kind on the island, joining existing sister properties like Sandals Barbados. The resort will showcase 600 rooms, including king suites and spacious, family-friendly four-bedroom suites featuring private oceanfront balconies. The architecture will reflect ‘Bajan Style,’ offering a luxurious Caribbean feel. A focal point of the resort will be its dedicated ‘Main Street,’ which will feature dining, shopping, and vibrant family zones, including performance stages and a modern sports bar.
Expanding to The Bahamas
Beaches Resorts’ expansion continues with its first property in The Bahamas, Beaches Exuma, which will be developed from the existing Sandals Emerald Bay. This project will transform the current setup of 249 rooms into a blend of accommodations, including family-friendly villa suites. Anticipated features of Beaches Exuma include 12 diverse restaurants, a vibrant Kids Camp, a signature splash park, and the Red Lane Spa. Set in a stunning locale known for its crystal-clear waters, guests will enjoy complimentary access to the Greg Norman-designed 18-hole Emerald Bay Golf Course.
Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks and Caicos
As part of the expansion, Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks and Caicos is now accepting reservations. This new village will feature 101 suites designed for extended families traveling together, with options like four-bedroom villas that can accommodate up to 10 guests. Guests will benefit from a nearly 15,000-square-foot pool and a variety of dining options, including an international food hall and the popular Butch’s Island Chophouse, exclusive to Sandals guests.
New Developments in Jamaica
The expansion plan also encompasses Beaches Runaway Bay Resort, strategically located between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. With an estimated 400 suites and villas, this resort will cater to large families. Amenities will include wellness areas, various activities like skateboarding and biking trails, and organic farm-to-table dining.
Recent enhancements at Beaches Negril include the unveiling of the new Firesky Reserve Villas, designed to accommodate families of up to 10 with luxurious amenities like private pools, alongside a remarkable Eventide Penthouse Collection for larger groups.
This comprehensive expansion signifies Beaches Resorts’ commitment to providing unforgettable multigenerational vacation experiences, prioritizing family connections amidst the beauty of the Caribbean. With new establishments on the horizon, families can look forward to a plethora of enriching opportunities that underscore the importance of shared moments in exquisite settings.
