In September, Century Cruises will welcome the ***Century Star*** to its fleet, marking a significant milestone as it becomes the line’s first river cruise ship to operate in Europe.
The inaugural voyage is set for September 18, featuring an eight-day cruise along the scenic Danube River. Following this, the Century Star will also navigate the Rhine starting in November, offering travelers diverse experiences through some of Europe’s most picturesque waterways.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the Century Star features a hybrid propulsion system and a hull made from recycled steel, aligning with contemporary eco-friendly practices in cruise ship construction. The innovative design was crafted by Concordia Damen Shipbuilding, while the interiors were conceptualized by MDesigns. This design draws inspiration from various cultural elements along the Danube River. For instance, the main restaurant reflects the essence of the Black Forest, a tribute that has garnered recognition as a finalist for the *CSI Awards 2025* in the Concept of the Year category.
Further enhancing its distinctive atmosphere, the ship’s bar and lounge channel the elegance of Baroque architecture and nod to Vienna’s renowned coffee houses. Cabins are designed to evoke the warmth of Serbian homes, incorporating elements of local folklore to create an immersive experience for guests.
David Fredericks, the president of Century Cruises, describes the Century Star as a perfect blend of “Eastern elegance and hospitality” combined with “Western style,” promising a unique and enriching experience for travelers.
